Background music

I like to play music in the background while playing boardgames, and even more so when playing role playing games. Since we usually play a horror RPG, I usually play dark ambient.

Other examples would be bands like Arcana, Burzum, DeutschNepal, Endura, Mortiis, Pazuzu, Skroll, The Ordeal, and Yen Pox, just to name a few.

Classical music is usually good too. Soundtracks (from movies and computer games) often contain good background music, but might require some hand picking, or weeding out. I prefer to play large folders with shuffle on, so I can focus on the game.
